Dry Needling
Dry needling is an efficient treatment method for muscle/tendon issues: pain and stiffness resulting from irritation at specific points in muscles. Dry needling involves inserting an (acupuncture) needle into the affected muscle(s). It is called a dry needle because no medication is added or administered. The concept is based on anatomical and neurophysiological principles and differs from classical acupuncture.
More about Dry Needling
How does Dry Needling feel?
You will hardly feel the insertion of the needle. When the correct trigger point is targeted, the muscle briefly contracts. This creates a sort of “cramp” sensation. Afterwards, the muscle usually relaxes immediately, and you can move more easily. Often, the treated area may feel somewhat tired/stiff, but this is usually short-lived. You will be given exercises and specific advice to maintain the improved condition.
