Physiotherapy Coverage
For several years now, physiotherapy is no longer fully covered by basic health insurance. Therefore, you need to obtain supplementary insurance for physiotherapy if you wish to be eligible for reimbursement by your health insurer. Physiotherapy is included in almost all supplementary packages offered by various health insurers. Depending on the chosen package, you will be reimbursed for a certain number of treatments, ranging from 4 to unlimited sessions, or there may be a maximum amount that you can spend on physiotherapy.
Some treatments are still covered by the basic insurance package. This includes all treatments for children under 18 years of age. For treatments falling under the “chronic” category, coverage from the basic package starts from the 21st treatment onward. You must pay for the first 20 treatments yourself or through supplementary insurance. The “chronic” musculoskeletal conditions that qualify for long-term treatment are precisely described in the so-called “Borst List”.
Agreements with Health Insurers
The Physiotherapist Pijnacker-Zuid has agreements with almost all health insurers. If we have a contract with the insurer, this means we have agreed upon rates with them and all claims are handled directly with the health insurer. This means no bills for you, no advance payments, or other administrative hassles. However, if you have arranged with your health insurer to handle payments yourself, then settlement will naturally take place through you.
We have deliberately chosen not to enter into agreements with certain insurers due to what we consider unreasonable demands in their terms. If we do not have an agreement with your health insurer, we ask you to pay for the treatment directly. We do not have agreements with Z&Z, Azivo, and De Friesland.
For rare cases where no rates have been established, we maintain a separate price list. If you are not insured for physiotherapy and we do not have agreements with the insurer regarding this, we apply the rates as listed in our price list. Naturally, you will receive an invoice from us in such cases.
