First Appointment

You no longer need a referral from a doctor to consult a physiotherapist. The physiotherapist is directly accessible.

Direct Registration, Screening

If you don’t have a referral, we allocate about ten minutes to first assess whether we are the right place for your complaint, the so-called screening. In a conversation, we evaluate if there is an indication for physiotherapeutic treatment. After this conversation, we determine the next step; there are four possibilities.

If we choose treatment, we proceed to a physiotherapeutic examination, as described in the “registration after referral” paragraph. In most cases, this is immediately following the screening.

Registration after Referral

If you make an appointment with us after being referred by a doctor, we schedule half an hour for you. First, there is a conversation where you can explain the complaint about the musculoskeletal system. We also try to determine the cause of the movement problem. Afterwards, a movement examination will take place to map everything out even better. This may also include an analysis of movements in daily life, work, or sports. You will receive an explanation of the problems found and any relationships, and a treatment proposal, which is started after consultation with you. In most cases, a start is made in the first session, but the first full treatment will only take place during the follow-up appointment. Follow-up appointments usually last a maximum of half an hour. However, there is also the possibility to schedule a double appointment to have more time immediately for the start of the treatment.

The Follow-Up

In the subsequent treatments, the result is always examined. Based on this, any adjustment of the therapeutic approach takes place. If additional examination is needed or we find it necessary for a specialist to make a further diagnosis, we discuss those possibilities with you and your general practitioner. After which, they will provide the necessary referral.

The frequency and length of the treatment series depend on the movement complaint, the cause, and your overall condition. We always strive for optimal results in the lowest possible number of treatments. An important factor in this is also your own effort. Because in addition to the treatments in the practice, daily exercises are important to support recovery.

After concluding a treatment series, we send a report to your general practitioner, if you consent to this.
